SEB and Swedbank join forces to foster young leadership in the Baltics and Sweden

The third edition of SEB and Swedbank's joint leadership exchange program will bring together 19 emerging leaders from Estonia and Sweden during the first week of October in Tallinn to discuss opportunities for cooperation.

“SEB, as a leading Nordic financial services group, is guided by the belief that entrepreneurial minds and innovative companies are key to creating a better world. By supporting the development of young leaders, wealso help build new relationships on the shores of the Baltic Sea,“ says Allan Parik, Chairman of the SEB Management Board.

“For organisations and companies to be sustainable and develop consistently, it is crucial to plan and support the succession of managers. The experiences and ideas that young managers bring to the table from different backgrounds and countries help ensure that our people and businesses are managed better,” says Olavi Lepp, CEO of Swedbank AS.

“It is encouraging to see SEB and Swedbank share the responsibility of shaping future leaders and fostering closer cooperation between the Baltics and Sweden. By investing in young talent and their development through the leadership exchange program, we are building a stronger future for both our countries,“ says Pär Nuder, Chairman of the Sweden-Estonia Cooperation Fund.

The participants in the Young Leaders program will engage with esteemed business executives, leadership experts, researchers, politicians, and diplomats from both Sweden and Estonia. Among the notable figures are Sirli Männiksaar, CEO of Ericsson Estonia, Marek Kiisa, CEO of the venture capital company NordicNinja, security expert Rainer Saks from CyberExer Technologies, Gustaf Antell, foreign news correspondent for Finnish YLE, and many others.

Launced in 2022, the Young Leaders program aims to foster regional integration and encourage the exchange of ideas among young leaders aged 25-40 from participating countries. Participants are selected from various sectors, including business, politics, culture, academia, NGOs, and the public sector. The 2024 program in Estonia consists of two sessions: a spring conference held in Stockholm and an autumn conference taking place in Tallinn from October 2-4.
