Sweden-Estonia Cooperation Fund awards 14 grants to promote relations via cooperation projects between Sweden and Estonia

Sweden-Estonia Cooperation Fund is proud to announce the awarding of 14 grants to individuals and organizations committed to advancing various cooperation projects between Sweden and Estonia. Since 2021, the Foundation has approved 38 applications, resulting in a disbursement of more than 1 360 000 SEK for Sweden-Estonia related cooperation projects. The approved 14 projects totaling 360 000 SEK (30 460 EUR) in 2024 aim to support initiatives that have the potential to make a significant impact in their respective fields.

The recipients were selected through a rigorous evaluation process based on criteria including creativity, feasibility, and potential for positive change. Each grant provides essential funding to help these projects move forward and achieve their goals.

Grant Recipients in 2024:

  1. Association of Friends of the Estonian School in Stockholm; Estonian School 80th Anniversary

  2. Estonia-Swedes’ Cultural Administration; Film recording cultural heritage of Estonian Swedes older generation

  3. Estonian Cultural School in Stockholm; A trip to Sweden to attend the Youth University in Sweden, organized by the Estonian Youth in Sweden

  4. Fotografiska Tallinn; Group exhibition "InBloom"

  5. Gothenburg Museum of Art; Exhibition with Ilon Wikland and production of a catalogue

  6. Head Read Literature Festival; Annual literary festival with multiple guests from Sweden

  7. Honorary Consul of Estonia on Gotland; Gotland - 80 Years After

  8. Jakob Åsell, freelance film journalist; A festival dispatch from the leading international Estonian film festival PÖFF

  9. Maria Spann Studio LLC; The Children of the 1944 Estonian Mass Flight

  10. O/Modernt, Lilla Akademien, Kungliga Musikhögskolan; O/Modernt New Generation Symphony Orchestra and Summer School

The Sweden-Estonian Cooperation Fund is an independent Foundation established in 2019 with the task to renew and strengthen the relations between the two countries. The interest from the Foundation’s capital is used to support exchange between groups, organisations and individuals.
